Go buy any digital ohmmeter in homedepo or walmart. Check the J1939 communication link resistors. One is located on engine around ECM second one is around fuse block so need cover to be open. You can check resistance right on diagnostic plug. If resistors are bad replace it. If VECU or LCM is bad contact guys from truck bone yard they have it for cheap. Read attachments how to.
    Good luck.

Thanks for your input, i have already checked the resistors on j1939. They checked good, with 60 and 120 ohms give or take. Im thinking it could be the j1708 data link.. but i havent found a way to check that one
Also already replaced ecm, vecu and lcm.. i was able to idle the truck but still dont have communication at diagnostic plug with ptt vcads, and still no pedal responce.. if only i could get signal at the diag. Port i can start proorammin vecu and lcm but im thinking that i might need to replace abs and srs computers too.. since i keep getting a "Check Data Link Broken" message.

Unplug those ABS and SRS computers. How did you check J1939? Remove one resistor and check with ohmmeter resistance of the line and resistor on other end of the link, right? Check both lines to the ground and +12 v with batteries disconnected.
This bad idea to high jack someone also old thread
    Hopefully admins can move it

My truck doesn't turn on engine brake or cruise control. Today it stopped showing mph. So I'm thinking replacing the vecu would fix my problem. What do you guys think?
