Became solo in November of 2008 and I LOVE IT!!!

Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

I started reading this thread as it has been pulled from the ashes of the past, rising like a Phoenix to block out the sun and consume us all with fire from the depths of hel l and beyond. I was wanting to know why someone who had posted some 8000 plus messages was just starting out and wanting to team. Makes me wonder what I would tell myself if I had a chance to talk to me before I started trucking. Might have to start a thread about that.

I did.
Been here going on 15 months now.
Ytd, with one week a month of from Jan- june, plus 3 weeks off in July, is $26k.
2016 kw t680 10 spd.

Plus, they would train her, then work to team her with someone from her area.
10k sign on bonus for teams, pick of tractor, priority repairs at terminals, and up to 51cpm split.
Plus home bi weekly if they choose to be.
My trainer and I were running 6500-7200 miles a week. Granted he was a 30 yr vet and while new at cdl a, I had my b license for 5 years and was a wrecker operator turning 24-36 hr shifts.
Plus I could drive overnights. Which my trainer loved.Rocks Thanks this. -
There's some truth to that... I drove solo for a mega carrier that many HATE and call "bottom feeder"... I drove there for 5 and 1/2 years and left only because my dedicated account ended... I knew lots of folks there, in all departments... they were all very nice and helpful to me and knew me by name...
I loved my dispatcher, my load planner...
I was a hard runner, making the most miles in the account, going everywhere I wanted... They let me go visit my dad in Brasil twice when I needed... both times I was out of the company for 3 months and when I came back, I had a brand new truck, with 10 miles on it, in the same dedicated account that I liked so much...
Nobody wanted me to leave when my account ended and offered me whatever they could to keep me. I cried... .
missed the folks, my dispatcher, the brand new truck... But I left to pursue something different...
