Oh no sir! I wasn't planning on spending the entire 20k on it. Wasn't planning on going past 16,500. And I don't have a auction license. Also where do I find trucks on landstar website
Against all odds!

I dont see how an Oo can make it when they hire out the work on there rig. But it is well worth time to learn a little bit of mechanics. Only you would tripple check your lug nuts n valve adjustments. Etc..

What is it that you need help on? Buying a truck? Or starting your company?
Starting the company (buying a truck is the easiest part). Independent or contracted to a carrier? Which carrier? What kind of freight? Need a few more specifics, friend. -
Well basically I'm doing a l/p with a mega Co. And I bring home about 1500 after everything while training drivers and driving 4 to 5k miles a week. Was just wondering if I got on with landstar or Mercer could I make that at the least driving solo. I have an idea of the truck is want just undecided of what to check for b4 purchase. Other than the usual truck check around. And trying to figure out which of the two companies would give me the best opportunity for profit

GEEEEEEEEZZZZ, that's low. How much do you make when you're not training?
FYI, there's no one company that's going to be worlds better than the rest when it comes to profits, since they all share the same agents and freight. That depends on you, the owner operator to make the magic happen. Pick the company with the least amount of handholding and go from there.Canned Spam and MJ1657 Thank this. -
The auction is open to public.lcapp.com landstar o/o's sell their equipment on this site, you may find a good deal

I took it for test drive, didn't take it to a independent mechanic which was my biggest mistake. I forgot exactly what the tow and hub bill came too but what I meant by worked them was my truck was listed for $41000 and I brought them to $35000 out the door. If your paying with cash or a personal loan you have a lot of wiggle room. I just bought a 2014 Toyota Tundra that they wanted almost 30 grand after taxes and dealer fees. Negotiated for 2 hours to get her to $26 including everything. Probably could of went to $25. Any ways first year of repairs weren't too bad. AC compressor, almost all AC hoses were leaking including sleeper Evap. Needed 3 engine metal coolant lines and a new radiator, service line started leaking so replaced both lines.... 1 air bag.... Oil pressure sensor, power steering hose ( blew first day I put truck to work) 2 new engine belts, all 8 shocks were so badly rusted they were just seized, EPG hose blew..... I think that's it. This year has been a lot better. Front case is leaking, clutch brake is completely worn, truck needed a new headlight harness but that's it for repairs. Just 3 pms.

Just wandering if that 20k you got on hand is your wages from this Lease Purchase that your doing. If so, have you paid your taxes on those wages?

I was at Tampa truck the other day test driving some trucks there. I did see that one but didn't pay close attention to it as I walked by. Have you checked out TSI truck sales in lake Wales? They have a bunch of trucks around your range they have a 97 FLD for 12,900 that wasn't too bad . I was just there today looking at them. Unfortunately I can't justify 20-30k for a truck with 900-1.2 million plus miles. So I think I'm going for a newer truck with a lot less miles for a little more. Just my opinion.
