Yes beening a female trainer there are werner I know how you feel there is not enough female trainers. So alot of the females wait a lot longer then the males to get one and being in allentown,pa you will be waitting a a lot longer. I hope you have a great time in training anf learn a lot and have a great time out there on the road. Just remember there is no stupid question and do not be afraid to ask questions or for help.

Welcome back Fyr. I was wondering where you went too. Glad to see you back posting. Is the Kenworth a long nose W9 or a T6?

What about a male driver asking for a female trainer? Is it really a crime!? SARCASM!!!! Please read the following apology for any sarcasm preceding:

MISS FYRSTAR,as a million plus mile driver,i can assure u u will have many days where these drivers u will share the road w/ start treating u w/ disrespect.saying vulgar things to u and propositioning u across the c.b.. IT'S sad but true, everytime a lady gets on the cb,a lot of drivers think she's a nasty #$$ lot lizard and start up w/ the degrading comments.also a lady can get on the radio asking sum-1 for help and those idiots want sexual favors 4 their help. IF U WERE TO ASK ME,I'D GIVE U HELP 2 THE EXTENT THAT I'D GET U BACK ON THE ROAD SAFELY.I hope u get w/ that trainer soon,Allentown is one boring place to be.it's like looking at reruns of the "andy griffith show". i would ask u for a favor though, drive safe and protect yourself. A bit chivilrous i know, but i am a true southern gentleman in every aspect of the term.GOD BLESS YOU mam, keep up the faith and believe in yourself and your abilities.

An end to this chapter:
I left Werner after a pretty good year and a half with them. I left because miles had gotten down to a little under 1000 a week.
They screwed me on returning the truck, trying to have me do runs instead of routing me to a nearby terminal to turn in the truck. I ended up having to pay .90c a mile for 220 miles to return it. Bad ending to an otherwise good stay. -

Frystar what route did they have you on? where do you plan to go now? I have been following your post. I wish you the best.

Where did you go too? I too have been following your threads. How often were you getting home?

I read your post and thought, Im in almost your same shoes.
Orientation was finished the first of August. I asked for a non-smoking trainer and they said I should not put stipulations on them when getting a trainer. LOL.
A week later I went out. The trainer was great but due to my SDMs lack of management skills in Werner there were problems. They felt it was easier to solve the problem with a 900-mile bus ride.
The first trainer said he made less than I did on most weeks. And we all know a student driver makes enough to eat on.
The second trainer was also great, I was blessed with this because I met a lot of trainers ..Some should not be allowed to train. The second trainer is kept moving. I have driven over 14k miles in the 4+ weeks I have been on the truck. We do 4 to 6k a week. I am doing as much as 684 miles on my 11 hour drive. Yes, that is no breaks and I eat on the run. He makes good money by training in all 48 and the miles I put in.
I see a lot of bad with Werner, not saying the other companies are better or worse. I will be here for a year, at that time I will have changed my mind or I will go somewhere else. I will give it a year.
THE WAIT IN THE ROOM IS BAD FOR YOU. Get out there, do what you have to. Dont let them take any backing from you. Do that as much as you can.
I am in a hotel tonight in Denver, the trainer paid out of his pocket for my room. So, some here are good .you just have to look past all the BAD.
Oh, get anything promised to you in writhing, and get it signed by them and their boss also.
Or it never happened. My training hours are up but they cant find a truck for me. Ya right. I am told next week in another state. We shall see.
