My issue was that you said a mega carrier said that was a two year disqualification! A minor fender bender is not and kind of disqualification, unless it is their company policy! You should be fine at most companies given that information!Shadowz81 Thanks this.

Plenty of companies that will hire you, and not even bottom of the barrel ones. Something that minor, shoot, many would consider you lucky that's all that happened in your time. You got enough years/miles under your belt that you were bound to have something minor happen like that. We all do. Whether it turns into something major or not is governed by how lucky we are and how much we are doing our jobs. Just throw some apps out there and see what turns up.

If this accident was in your POV, it won't be on any DAC Report.
The problem you are going to have is not that you had an accident, as others have said a Minor fender bender usually means nothing of it is not in a CMV, but, yours was a rear end collision, and that is is a big no no in this industry. It is indicative of not maintaining proper following distance, which, as I am sure you are well aware, is often deadly when it is a truck rear ending a four wheeler.
Still, there are companies that will hire you. Apply to a number of them and see what they offer. -
Two second-chance companies are Western Express and PTL. I had a 12-month suspension and they were the only two who would even consider me, including the company I worked for who knew all the intimate details.
Western has van and flatbed divisions and PTL is van only. They're a way to get back in the business. You will get frustrated by either, but it might be your only shot.Last edited: Aug 26, 2016

Yes and that is exactly why I understand the company saying no.KMac Thanks this.

I am looking at Western right now. I figure once I get back in I'll the usual frustrations while getting my legs back under me, but once I have current experience I'll have many more options.
-
And honestly, I worked for both. Like any trucking company, it's mostly the attitude you bring to the job that will determine how you're treated.
At the end of my time at Western, one of the supervisory DM's pulled me onto his board because he saw what I did and liked what he saw; on time picks and drops, minimal questions to him, and, well, the whining I did was inside the truck, not on the phone. I ended up with consistently very long runs up and down the Interstate. Others did more whining than their transmissions and weren't treated as well.TripleSix Thanks this. -
Oh. And I avoided Nashville, the Mother Ship, as much as I could. It's a very powerful black hole that Stephen Hawking should study.

Stevens is another that will likely hire you. Look at self I.sured companies such as that. They make their own rules for who and what they accept.
Shadowz81 Thanks this.
