That would be quite a few bolts vibrating loose. They lift the engines by the frames. You would be able to tell f the frame was loose because the engine would wobble when lifted up.

Not any different than a machine bolted together.

Well, fine thread will stay put, while coarse thread usually won't. That would make for a hell of a surprise to suddenly notice a top-heavy beast of an engine just sitting there with nothing holding it because the bolts fell out.

Do you trust the bolts that hold the engine in your truck to not vibrate loose? It's not that different.

I hate the guys who have some chains pulling down, some forward and some pulling back. Makes me nervous everytime i see em in the mill like that.

image.jpeg How about a 81,000 lbs of mill roll on a flat. A tall flat at that over 5 ft tall. You will respect the on/off ramps!!!

What are the chains hooked to? I would like a close up picture of those. With an aluminum trailer the chains chew the aluminum and it looks like you have a very good solution.

They are the heavy duty MAC J-hooks. That trailer has hauled thousands of mill rolls only had to replace one hook. It got bent from a forklift. I really liked them.
The chains used to get stuck in the J-hook until I modified the chain hooks a little. I used a chop saw and squared the bottom of the chain hook. No more mushrooming of the softer aluminum.
I don't have the trailer anymore. The mill dropped a 66,000 roll on it. It might not have hurt it too bad but they dropped it on the right side. It bent the outer rail and rolled the main web of the right main rail. I was wanting to sell it anyway.
It was a outstanding trailer for the job though. I've had 87,000 on it. It still had an arch. They made me nervouse for a different reason though. It would put me over on 116k permits! I was afraid of getting into a fender bender and ending up with thousands of dollars in fines.
