Should I switch companies?

Yes,
I just got parked for the day and I'm ready to try it out

 

There's really no LTL near where I live, plus I'd hate that kind of work, and I don't want to be home every day and have to show up for work every day, (we have a steel mill, and a ton of day cabs servicing it)

 

I walked there from the Loves once, I sat at the small bar, later I found out they had another room and a big bar, but I haven't been back there yet

 

No ideal

 

I'm a single hermit, no debt, maybe 500 a month in bills. No real ambition to make a ton of money, I have an awesome shop and 10 acres and need to put up a house, but, I found out I don't care what I live in , it's odd, maybe I'll throw a trailer there.
At Crete I make in the mid to upper 50,s, I take off a lot and love the OTR life, but I hate all the 3 to 500 mile loads, but then i work the daytime shift 99% of the time so I have a great sleep schedule.
I think Crete gave up on the micromanaging,
I loved July with the thousand plus loads all month, (after my talking to)
Usually I run 8,000 miles a month, July was 12,000, honestly I don't care what I run as long as they ain't short loads..
And I love the 3 to 5 days off in a row every month...

But the other job that has my ears perked up is hauling office furniture out from a nearby factory, home every week for at least a day, that might not be enough time off in a row, I might lose 6 grand a year until I build up seniority,no problem. Who knows? Now I make 49 cpm in a dry van and there it's 42.5 and $22 a stop, most loads have 20 to 25 stops, driver unload,
I just talked on the CB to a driver that worked there 20 years,he's in the top 10 in seniority and gets the best loads, he makes 80 grand a year, good guy.
Said he would make $2,000 if he recruited me but wasn't interested, just told me the facts.
I've complained about all the jobs I've ever had, I'm 48 and Crete is my third job, grew up on a farm, worked in a factory 20 years, PAM for 2 years and Crete the rest.
Maybe I should try for SSI

 

Yeah, I can't get an honest response from their drivers what that part is like, the one, a black driver in Virginia on the CB started talking to another black guy, and naturally since I asked I had to be a 300 pound steering wheel holder. But he worked out of a factory in the Carolinas and well I've posted a lot about the useless Southerners.
But the ready to retire white driver would only say it was a challenge unloading 3 to 500 pound desks stacked 3 high, nothing more, that left me confused
Sure I've weakened in the last 10 years, but for the previous 38, I was a hard working SOB,
