That being said, lateral moves to another job really don't make sense cause although Crete may have made alot of changes over the years as SSB said but what company hasn't (kinda a copy cat industry ) plas they're all trying to comply with the Federal BS

Only thing I believe U and others can try to do is look for a O/O putting on another truck (which would require U to do somethings like call for loads, vehicle maintenance etc) or go small fleet and get away from the Mega's

a month or so ago I was talking to a Flash driver, they ran dump and pneumatics down to Alabama and back every day, like 580 miles a day, 2 days off a week, home every night,
They sold out to Beelman and now they're hiring from Alabama for the drivers,
So on my 55 mph local highways I have the Beelmans running their trucks for all they got,
And it's scary turning in my driveway when they're behind me.

I almost took one of those furniture drop loads
Then I heard the truck owner gets 250 a drop and was gonna pay me 20
    Kinda pissed me off
Yeah too bad that Crete driver wrecked three trucks at the Rose
    Ruined it for everybody.

I've heard tons of stories why we can't park there, I believe none of them, but the furniture loads are hauling that factory's manufactured product.
    .
Actually in 2006 when I quit my 20 year factory job, they did offer me a job doing flatbed hauling their freight, Teamster rate, 52 cpm, I declined as I wanted some training, the recession of 2008 really hurt that place and they got rid of their drivers and started brokering out all the product.
Me without training.....I'd be in prison, my trainer had 22 years experience

    Yikes.
There is a Walmart DC in Seymour. Not sure if they domicile drivers there but it'd at least be a pay increase.
    Good luck with your search.
