We have been advised to be very careful about our social media presence. I have heard our HR person quote posts from the WalMart section of this forum. Not this thread necessarily. So yes, they're watching. Its a public forum, anyone can read without being registered. If I keep my anonymity, I can be honest in my posts. But, I will say, I have never been afraid to confront my GTM, or HR person if I have an issue.Thats one of the company's strong points. I bet all of us talk differently to another driver vs a manager. So why do as I feel as I do? As seen a month or so ago, tempers get heated, someone pushes a driver a little too far and a statement is made, which you think has the Internet protecting you.
And for any non company drivers, who think this is an awful example of " The Great Satan" looking over our shoulder, take a look at your own situation, you might be surprised how much your employer knows about you.
Walmart here I come!

So I'm just starting and will be slip seating regularly. ...how do I have them change every truck I drive?
-
At our DC most trucks have been changed. But, I would suggest investing in a small inverter just in case.
-
Does the apu run as long as needed?
-
Yep, as long as you need.
-
So that should keep the batteries charged to run a small inverter.
-
Yes, I went on line and found a DC cord for my cpap. So, I just need a cigarette plug.georgear1084 Thanks this.
-
Buy a DC power cord for your CPAP. I use one myself and plug into one of the many cigarette lighter plugs in the truck. Most CPAP machines consume very little power and would not run down the truck batteries even if the APU were shut off.

I respectfully have to disagree with your post. Getting on a program depends heavily on which DC you work out of. I walked in off the street to a program - the guy that started with me went to extra board - he was there for about a month then got a program - I got a full time ride after just 8 months with the company - and not just me - at my DC, the GTM tries very hard to give extra board guys a truck for the majority of their week and he is very strict on cleanliness - we don't have the problems that you described here and frankly I think its a little reckless on your part to insinuate that this is how it is company wide - its not - seems like you have other issues that don't have a lot to do with this particular post. We had 2 guys that started 3 weeks ago and they're both on programs now - yes, they had to slip for about 2 weeks, but talking to them both, they were in the same truck for most of their weeks. Thought I would add some more honesty to yours.

So a program is different than having a full time ride?
