10-4. Program drivers share specifically assigned trucks with other drivers, be it a 5/2 5/3, 6/3, 5/5, 4/4, etc. A full time driver simply means you are assigned your own truck.

How long does an assigned truck take and how long for a program?
-
Again, it depends on the DC. My DC has had a lot of turnover with retirements and transfers in the last year and a half so there has been a lot of movement. Opportunities have come very quickly here. Others have taken longer. There is no defined amount of time.

That's all the honesty where I'm at. I know drivers throughout the company who've said they wouldn't wish slipseating on their worst enemy at this place.
Glad that it's been pleasant for you, but others haven't had the same luck and there's no reason to speak to me like that for voicing my opinion. While it's a decent job, not everything here is roses. -
You're right, everything here is not roses, but it's not all crap either. I was simply doing what you asked me to give you room to do - voice my opinion. It just happens to be a little different from yours.slim6596 Thanks this.

I think most would be really happy here if they're currently working for a Knight, Werner or Swift type OTR carrier, but if you've been with a company for many years that treats you right and you're making 80k+ a year I wouldn't make the move unless the DC is in an area that you'd like to move to.
Walmart's yearly driver incomes are close to the big money that the LTL's are now paying drivers for linehaul. For those of you on the fence check that option out before making any drastic cross country moves just to get onboard. -
no problems here with dirty trucks, they are very big on drivers keeping clean trucks,Last edited: Aug 29, 2016

Wish I could say the same. Had to drive a truck outside of my program the other day that had a filthy floor mat leading into the sleeper and nail clippings all over the floor.

I'm not officially hired yet, but I have definitely noticed alot of negative feedback from certain drivers about the private fleet. Every company has its batch, and I know we do. They don't know how good they got it, until they have to go somewhere else. I just wonder what there gtm would say about there negative influence on new drivers. Wow!! You ask one question, and get a ear full.

Have you driven LTL?
