Ok man, there are plenty of loads to TX. I go there all the time. You really just need to learn our lanes. Take some time and learn where the loads to TX come from. Try a reverse search where you see what's coming into TX and from where. Do this daily for a week or two (better yet a month or two) and you will start seeing regular loads that go into and out of TX on a regular basis. With time you can learn how to get to anyplace. I have two homes and my GF lives in Houston. I can get to all 3 within a matter of days because I know where I need to be to get a load going to each place. You just signed on. Give it a little time and learn our lanes. You will be fine.

I agree but mercer have a few weak freight spots,i still get $2 to 2.5 a mile out of baltimore going to the midwest and $2 out newark nj while east coast mercer drivers waiting on a 1.5 a mile load or have to deadhead 200 miles or more to get a decent rate

I don't know why they sit in that area, while i wouldn't call them hot spots i have never had a problem getting right back out for 2$a mile, or worse case, just under 2.
Also are you talking the rate you get under your own authority? Trying to compare that to a mercer guy that gives up 25% to the office is not exactly a true comparison.

Wait a second, I'm having a hard time understanding what you are saying. Only 1 load vs hundreds on the private board? Huh?

I load out that area every time I go there and even mass and Maine. My rates out of there average as good as yours, allowing for the difference between you having authority and me running theirs, lets don't forget that. Your 2 to 2.50. Is my 1.50 to 1.85, but then actually i do a bit better and load light, last week I did a 5k to NC out of Maine for 1.83 and the week before did a 6100 pound load out of Boston o Oklahoma for 1.87 to Kansas, ok line. Blinds hogs find acorns, but some smell things better than others.

He is about talking about pay to see loadboards, may have had authority before leasing. Seems to be first load out of Louisville and is in a bit of a panic

Ahh. I've always thought of those as public boards. Cause anyone with a dot number can access them. And board such as ours and landstars as the private ones, cause only permanently leased trucks can access them.

I live in Virginia along I-77 near the NC line. Most of the freight in VA goes to the mid-west or northeast. Call the agents. Sheila in the Danville VA office works with Merchant Metals in Statesville NC. They have runs to Texas. Or call Charlotte. Carrier ships A/C units to all points. You could get lucky and get loaded at the Port of Virginia with Texas bound freight. I usually wind up in Houston. Then I have a hard time getting back. I haul short heading north until I get something eastbound. Northern Texas or even Oklahoma to go East. Mercer has been the best sofar with perks, fast pay and driver appreciation.
