Somebody said volunteers to keep somebody else out of hot water. Your flat crazy if you think someone is leaving their third world country just to "volunteer" here.
I have done both roofs and vegetable harvesting for a living. What do you think of that? What color am I?
While doing roofs I had no end to the "white boys" hitting me up for a job. None! if fact if I had to say that was by far the worst part of the job, having to tell so many people you don't have work for them is never easy.
The local food processors/harvesters have no problem filling up the employment rosters with anybody, including "white boys" each and every season. Long lines and days of recruiting are usually the norm for those that don't specialize in exploiting illegals.
So, keep believing that political myth that "white boys" won't do the work. I put it in the same category as "driver shortage." I won't be long before truck driving is a job "white boys" won't do any more.

The labor market dictates the workforce. Many places like where you live now have been settled by Somali refugees (perfectly legal) that dropped the labor rate. Anyone with any sense won't work for poop wages. And so forth...Toomanybikes Thanks this.

Do you mean you are actually questioning the veracity of the news media?????
Sheesh, I get so darn sick and tired of reading/hearing/seeing "news" reports that have the facts all screwed up! There was a time, when reporters could actually lose their jobs, for inaccurate reporting. Now they care about two things only, be the FIRST to break the news, no matter how inaccurate it is, and sensationalize it as much as possible! Milk it for what it's worth, then jump to something else and never bother to correct the facts. Because by the time the actual facts are known, it is already old news and of no "value."

No need to bow down, just buy me a cup of coffee if you ever get out this way, and have the time to do it!

I was out there somewhere last Sept. I swear I will be back out because Bryce Canyon Park and other Utah ares are on my bucket list (along with the north rim of the Grand Canyon). Went from Caldwell ID on I-84 to Prove, then to Denver to Memphis and then south GA.

I tried hard to stay shut of this illegal driver.
I do not accept that companies are so hard up as to put a illegal on the road with lives in his hands. It's unconscionable. Illegal means to be a Alien in our Land. From another Nation not a Citizen with the benefits of belonging to these United States.LindaPV Thanks this. -
@x1Heavy, sadly, it is more common than you would think. Particularly right near the border. Had a bud who worked a small town PD that was killed while on a traffic stop. Hay truck slammed into the back of his radio car, which slammed into the other car. He jumped back out of the way of the cars....And was run over by wheels of the truck. Hay truck, out of Imperial Valley, driver unlicensed, illegal, and schidt faced on top of it.

Unfortunately Big Don is right, it definitely happens. About a year and a half ago I was helping unload a car carrier and had to relay instructions between the forklift operator and the driver; this was because (1) the truck driver spoke absolutely NO English and (2) I was the only one on the site who spoke any Spanish whatsoever. I was left wondering how a non-English speaker managed to obtain a CDL despite the LAW stating that English comprehension is MANDATORY. I guess I should've asked him who he had to bribe...Toomanybikes, Big Don and x1Heavy Thank this.
