Just out of curiosity, why were you unsuccessful at disputing their fabrication?

Because of the way Hire Right handles them. The way it works is like this:

Company X puts something on a drivers DAC.

That driver finds out about it, calls Hire Right and files a dispute.

Hire Right notifies the company that you are disputing what they said. The company can the either say "Oops! Our mistake." and Hire Right will take it off...or more likely, the company will stick to their guns and say that the incident did happen...which is all they need to do.

Hire Right notifies the driver that the company will not retract their report at which time the driver can give a 100 word or less statement with his/her side of the story. Then, that is it.

Drivers need to realize that Hire Right works for the companies...not them. They already got their ##### sued for incorrect reports, and they're well on their way to it happening again. I've got 2 incidents on my DAC from Stevens Transport back in 2011. They are filed in a 'miscellaneous incident' category with no details about what might of happened. Nothing ever happened when I worked for them, so I disputed both. But Stevens said that something happened....they couldn't say what, but that didn't matter to Hire Right. So there they sit. Forever tarnishing my DAC.

 

OK, it was just the wording of the statement that was a little confusing. He did dispute it, what he was unsuccessful at was getting it changed.

Correct and the judgement that was awarded was for 2.6 million dollars. Just dealt with a very similar situation with the filing of miss information.. What I can say is that the information was removed form the dac report and then new information was filed simply reworded and that was also removed however it was not a quick process on the second dispute. If you have actual violation of the law is a big advantage in disputing. The company reporting was Prime the false information was Prime and I will say that the size of the company reporting the false information appears to be a factor of how Hire Right views what they are reporting..

 

Not all companies use DAC. You can always find a local or small trucking outfit that will hire you. No need to head to the fast food joint.
