Some ######## RRTS pitch . They're bleeding drivers at T2T. Trailer charges , junk Quality trucks , everyone bailing . They send me letters every week , now they're offering 92%. Might be worth it if you have your own ride

92% of 1.00 mile is still 92 cents.. Just saying.

You're spot on , Hagar. They've been pulling the same freight and lanes for years like bread and butter and now everyone's in the cupboard stealing loaves and cutting rates . They're not aggressive enough chasing freight on Sylectus or any outside broker freight .

    R.Hagar Thanks this.

I have had that spot market freight discussion here.. Was told that they have plenty of dedicated direct shippers to look after. I'm not saying you can't make money here.. I'm saying that I know when I can make more and they would also profit. But they won't allow us to look.

That's the rub. They need to make sure you sit a day sometimes to cover their customers load or they lose the customer if you're not there

I'll eventually get my own authority.. My try landstar before jumping off deep into it.. But I'll get there.

DATS is a good place to set up your own numbers plus they factor and they have a load board

    R.Hagar Thanks this.

I had some time on this Schwan's load. And at 0500 will have lots more time. Over 2600 cases on the floor and americold here in compton. Was told today possible to get a cheese load for Monday. Hope so. Tired of these less than 2k weeks

You are exactly right. I ran under a companies authority for about 6 months.

Whenever I refused a load because it didn't pay beans, they would use the same old tired line that went something like this, "we have core customers we have to service."

My reply was always, if I can't make any money on the deal, how can you? Then I realized that the onus was on me for the WHOLE ENCHILADA and that they were just taking their percentage off the top anyways. 10% of $1,300 isn't much different than 10% of a $1,000 dollars on percentage. However, that $300 difference to me could cover my fuel.

Even if it meant me taking it in the shorts revenue wise, appointment times, detention times, etc., I was servicing their "core customers." Not mine...

The best thing I could ever done was to line up financing on my own truck & trailer and to obtain my own authority.

Now I control what I do, where I go, etc. If I don't want to take an offered load, I can say thanks but no thanks and move on to the next. The brokers don't whine about it, they come back with a better offer, or say, we'll catch you on the next one.

If I want to re-position myself by stringing a couple of shorts hops together, that's my choice. If I want to to sit for a day in order to fatten my bottom line on the next couple of loads, I can and will.
