    1. DOT reportable only means the accident must be recorded in the carriers accident registry.
    2. With a few exceptions you ONLY get CSA points when an inspection report is completed by a DOT/CVSA officer.
    3. CSA points do NOT get reported by accident reports.

Q: Many times an officer may not give a driver an inspection report following a driver inspection; will CSA be able to capture these inspections and use them in the system?
A: No. If the officer did not complete a roadside inspection report, the inspection will not show up in CSA. Instruct drivers that if the officer did do a complete driver inspection, the driver should ask for an inspection report. However, please be aware that there are several reasons the officer my not have completed a roadside inspection report. Examples include the following:

    • The officer did a simple "traffic stop," not a roadside inspection.
    • The officer was not a MCSAP/CVSA officer. Only officers that have been properly trained can conduct roadside inspections and submit reports.
    • The officer did not do a complete inspection (simply checking a driver's license or log does not count as an inspection; the inspection must meet the North American Standards established by CVSA to be recorded as a roadside inspection).

A bobtail wont crush the tractor like that. It's a loaded trailer that did it.

My guess is he fell into a nap time or simply was too tired to keep a distance away. The OP did say he slowed for the Van Dorn Gate I think Border Patrol or something it's been so long for me.

I always worried when I decide to slow for a ramp or gate anyplace. Always someone back there possibly in nap time at cruise speed. I should know Ive done that a time or two. The last time I followed the big red trailer light in my dreams I woke up when the rocking chair to my left moved in enough to trigger my side vision with me all over that window snoozing away. He got on the radio and said there you are. You awake now. Pull off here get in that bunk. I think he saved lives but I hate to think of the hundred miles I spent in dream land prior to that particular wake up call when he moved in real close with the semi... it's not good for semis to be close because air pressure between them will draw em together.

Other driver told the cop he wasent paying attention. I'm betting to save himself from a cell phone ticket. Trailers drivable. The dot bumpers done for. And my tandems shifted and the door got pushed in a little. I'm making my delivery then heading to a terminal. I'd go terminal first but the delivery's on the way.

It would not be the first time to choose between perdition and a bit of a fine. Fast thinking usually comes up with the least of my sins to the Policeman standing on my fuel tank. I'll pay something but ###### if Im going to really pay.... Apologies to all Police out there, lord knows enough of them have yelled at me like a wayward child breaking a vase or something in their town.
