Whether the system is running on 13.6 volts or 120 volts it will still use the same power... 952 watts. It just takes less amperage at 120 volts than it does at 13.6

 

I'm not familiar with the ParkSmart specifics. Does it have a shorepower outlet? If not, I would only assume it uses 12v. And it will obviously pull more juice with the engine on because it's recharging it's battery banks.
That Honda 2000w generator has a massive positive reviews section on Amazon. Some have even had theirs over a decade and love em, with regular maintenance.

 

The way I understand it to operate, with the engine on, the compressor runs at a higher speed and draws more amperage.

When the engine is off, the compressor runs slower because it switches over to running off the auxiliary batteries instead of the truck's alternator.

The auxiliary batteries are charged by the truck's alternator through an isolator.

It does have shore power capabilities but I don't know if it has an AC to DC converter direct to the unit or just a separate charger to keep the auxiliary batteries charged. My guess is the latter.

 

Thanks for all the advice....I plan on getting a 2000 watt generator shortly. I will try it out first by plugging it directly into the trucks shore power receptacle and see how that works. If I dont get positive results I will attach a small battery charger to the auxiliary batteries and plug that into the generator. One of the two ways MUST work!!!

Mine also has a plug in below the driver's door that I thought was shore power. It's not... i followed the wires to a block heater.

 

I drove a T660 that had the KW Cool Power battery APU system.

The shore power plug was outside behind the sleeper where the battery kill switch was. The pig tail for the trailer and the shore power plug were on the same pole.

I doubt yours is similar,.. but it cant hurt to look back there
