Yeah i was asking about company drivers at TA....so basically you need to take your 4 days at the end of 4 weeks...i was just wondering if you could stay out that long then take a long break but i figured TA would probably not want you gone for that long a period...my plan is to run 4 weeks with 4 days off if that's the case. I just don't see the point of only coming home a day or 2 unless you had too. Appreciate the info.

Main issue with the hometime request is that you enter your request by qualcom/treq unit, then that request goes into their computer system to see what days are open. I believe only 25% of drivers can be on hometime at one time. So drivers will put request in 3 weeks or more ahead of time. They tell you to request 8 days ahead but you would not get days you want in that short of time frame.
(If you want 4 days off such as friday to monday. You request thursday at 2001/8:01 pm till Tuesday at 0759/7:59 am.) This way you end up getting 5 days at home and you can always tell your DM you can't leave till a day later. (excuses; doctor, lawyer, dog ate homework, etc.)Broke Down 69 and bamalife123 Thank this. -
Alright i appreciate the info. Another question seeing that you worked for the company side of TA are they many long time company drivers so to say folks who have been driving there for years on the company side or is it mostly just rookie drivers all the way around.

TransAm tries to balance company at 70% lease drivers and 30% company drivers.
Lots of company guys been around for few years. A few Lease drivers have been their around a year or two. (coaches mostly)
TransAm oreintation you have 15 to 20 a week come thru a week.
Most people stay at transam 6 months to a year then leave.Broke Down 69 and bamalife123 Thank this. -
So as far as your trainer goes do company guys train as well are is it just lease ops that train?Broke Down 69 Thanks this.

Does that seem too short on experience to be a trainer in your opinion. I would think by 6 months if you didn't have it down pretty good by then you should probably find another job but i don't know jack s%^t yet i haven't even started so i could be dead wrong on that. I'm just going by past experience in jobs iv'e held before after 6 months you knew the job pretty well.Broke Down 69 Thanks this.
