Hope this will serve as a reminder to "give 'em a break!" Personally, there is no way that I would have a job where my primary function involved being on foot, in a construction area on a highway.

    LindaPV and Lepton1 Thank this.

When I saw the video the thing that got my attention is how the skid marks from the truck began at such a sharp veer to the right, then sharply moved back left. The trucker was a good three feet off the road.

At the very least this is an example of VERY POOR lane control. At worst impaired or distracted driving. I see this sharp "Yankee Doodle Steering", yanking back and forth with inability to maintain a lane on a daily basis. It doesn't matter if it's a dry van, tanker yanker, or wiggle wagon. Very very poor steering habits out here by "professional" drivers.

A21CAV, LindaPV and G13Tomcat Thank this.

Seems most drivers (cars and trucks both) are dyslexic or have ADHD. From what I see in a lot of construction zone most of them start speeding up rather than slowing down when they see road work ahead signs.

we all see the stupidness of other drivers, approaching and thru a construction zone. which brings me to ask one of several questions.

why can't all construction work be done at night, to maybe perhaps lessen this from happening as in "some cases" less traffic at night.?

why can't a road be closed and force drivers off the highway, and then back on again at the next exit.?

the shoulder was where this accident took place, ok i understand that, but why wasn't "for safety's sake', the right lane closed as well?

i personally knew of a DOT engineer here in my state, he told me he never felt comfortable walking the road site with only orange cones or barrels "protecting him".

he always feared for his life, sadly, he died of cancer a few years ago. that one day he admitted, he had no fear of!!
