Already starting to see the color change in the trees . Autumn is my favorite time to drive. Some of the scenes we encounter are better than any postcard or video.

Guessed wrong, sir. I may have occasional down time, but by no means do I have free time. "Free time" would mean more fishing, more time with family and more time to crack a beer. I have no time for any of those things.
However, if you feel you have available time, use it to skim through the previous pages. You'll find the answers you were looking for...although you never asked, just states something about government corn silos and the source of government cheese secrets.
Anywhoooo...enjoy your holiday weekend full of barbeque and fun. I'll be heading to PA, then back to Lansing.

I've started using my window screens to keep my APU use down. I don't pay for the fuel or upkeep, but I much prefer "real" air to air conditioned air.

Especially considering the condition of the filter that's under my bunk...

You missed the part about those pesky black helicopters flying over your truck...

I should have known. Labor Day weekend...no empty trailers. Next load isn't due til Wednesday morning. The writing was on the wall.
Gout flared yesterday . Luckily I was able to stop by my dads and down a couple of tart cherry juices and took a few more with me. Still hurts, but at least I can walk.

I explored an option and found an empty today, so I was able to get loaded after all...at 7pm. Still on my way back though. Not bad for an otherwise standstill holiday.
When you are dependant on other people working, that's when you start hating holidays.

The first day back to school for my kids. Also my 13th wedding anniversary today. Too bad I can't be home for both of those.
I did get an email asking if I'd come work at a local factory.
    I can start right away!
It pays a whopping $11.25/hr to start.
