A shipper I went to had a walk through metal detector. It went off as I had my keys and leatherman in my pockets.

Security guy just gave me a look that said "we will pretend we didn't hear that" then went back to staring into space.

I do not carry. But with some of the goings on these days I admit I've been tempted to start. Better to be judged by 12 that carried by 6, as the old cliche goes. Having said that, in 23 years of trucking, I've never been directly asked if I have a weapon in the truck. Never been searched for one. Etc. So if you do, I'd say your chances of getting caught with it are pretty slim anyway. The only exception to that is my numerous trips into and out of Canada. Both Canada and U.S. customs have asked and looked. Other than that, not once.

Ya, limited experience here but the Canadian boys didn't really like that I used a plastic "ammo box" to store my meds.... LOL ... They found that during their search of my truck... And then the questions started to fly... LOL

I don't currently carry and may never but the wife and I are going to get our Concealed Carry permits and go from there. How that will translate to trucking who knows but times are changing.

    Stay Safe,
    MD

I know right... Being sent in high alert like that can't be health at all... Poor fellow... Just trying to protect his country and feed his family and I come strolling through and send him to DEFCON 3 level.

I apologized and promised I would do it again.

At sage driving school had an ex Military MP that used to pick up in south central la every its better to be caught with than w/o. Be a 5'6 140lb white boy like me delivering to east harlem at 2am humping food. xd9 compact, cant even tell im strapped. Hunts point, Jamaica, Bed Stuy, Mott Haven. I stick out like a sore thumb esp after hours. Something happens, me, Mr whitey is keeping my life and a good lawyer is making it go away.

Or delivering Bodymore during the riots. B-More and the hoods of dc scare me more than anywhere in nyc
