I used a strong rag. It usually gives me a pass defense against a citation when the Law pulls my shipping container over on those stupid bad pigtails. The failures and shorts on the entire trailer drives the law crazy and they fall over themselves to pull me over down there.

It would be far better to find a pernament solution to that sort of problem than complaining about the Law. And rags.

Thanks for the input about trailer issues but that isn't the problem.

I bought a different battery charger that has a max of 20 amps, just a bit newer than the older one I was using but at least it has the read outs for battery voltage and percent capacity. Have to restart engine every 30 seconds so drains batteries and also hard in the starter. I need to build up enough air in the system to move it around while I'm working on it.... I hope it lasts long enough. Volvo dealer burned it out so they paid for part of the overhaul at least last time they had it.

Some good news finally. Tied the two wires together from the coolant sensor that is mounted in the coolant reservoir tank. Fluid light off now. Drove truck and trailer 8 miles to test after. Bad news is no temp gauge working and no cruise control but I can live with the cruise control not working. Code 42 shows now. Will check brake lights and see if they are affected tomorrow when I have some help. Many thanks to Pablo for his help.

one way to check the temp gauge, is unplug it from the engine. you may need a second person, in the cab. as the connector for the temp gauge is in your hand, use a paper clip and plug it into the connector, (like as if you were tying it together) the person in the cab, needs to have the key on. if the gauge moves, then the temp sending unit is bad, if the gauge does not move, then you have a bad dash unit. my money would be on the temp sending unit.

    and Pablo helped you???

    i didn't see no Pablo!!??!!
