Yeah really what went down in Brooklyn? Say what you want about OOIDA but they took on and took down the corrupt Tennessee Public Utilities Commission. I've seen a lot of foolish rants about them being insurance sales people. You know it's kind of difficult to get by in this world as a charity especially if you depend on cheap assed truckers to be charitable. But I've never really seen a good argument about why they suck. The fact is they're the only organization drivers have fighting any sort of fight at all.

Of they limit the four wheelers they can limit me sure those death numbers are four wheelers not truckers. Most of us drive 70 and slower with ungovernd truck. 68 isn't bad but of everyone is governed between 60-68 it would be traffic on traffic

Like was stated before. The FMCSA considers the comment period to be a mere formality. They are of the mindset that no opinion other than theirs matters. They won't even read most of the comments. And will take none into consideration in any meaningful way anyway. They've already made up their mind.

They'll take comments into consideration alright as long as it's no trk drivers and the ppl are on the side of FMCSA.

    +1 @MrEd.

I don't understand how @Johny41 can say speed limiters aren't a problem. How many thousand times has this happened:
3-4 trucks (often more) are running 63 kph on the four lane and a fella pulls out to pass. Truck in the granny now speeds up to 65 so the passer can't get in front of him and take away his braking distance. So now we have 65 passing 65 and it comes down to who has more power, more weight and where is the next hill. Sooooo, 5 miles later the passer gets the pasese on a grade but now he has to cut the granny truck off to get back into the right lane and let the 1,000 four wheelers by. Passee slows down to let passer in and now the truck behind the passee pulls out to pass and the idiotic cycle repeats itself.

Speed limiters are why we have more multi truck collisions now.....following too close and getting cut off. It's a work place safety issue.

The roads are more dangerous because 63/64/65 mph trucks are plugging up the 70mph speed limit states.
This will be the only hope, is the general public will demand change when they are constantly being delayed by trucks running the speed limit trying to pass. Or we will be limited to the right lane only. I can see the signs now, TRUCKS NOT PERMITTED IN LEFT LANE. NO PASSING.
When I become King lobbying will be a capital offense. This is NOT government by the people.

This process is sad and wrong. It is not for the people, by the people.
It has become for bureaucrats, by the lobbyists.
This process doesn't involve the "law makers" at all. Just office personnel passing and enforcing rules, most not even seen by Congress little alone passed by them.

Just like OSHA and EPA. Laws passed by Congress and a bloated bureaucracy that has become self-serving to "prove" the need of their very own existence. Enforcing self proclaimed (and interpreted) rules not laws.

Might as well have the Kingdom back.
Good luck to America. This is not the America the founding Fathers envisioned..
