The Food Service Rant thread

On a side note not that it matters, but I don't feel good I have a cold I'm all achy and stuffed up oh well that will make work extra fun tomorrow.

 

Big money day tomorrow they will cancel routes and make everything huge to save overtime so I'm looking at a massive day I'm sure

 

We have most of our driver pool on vacation, but I don't get vacation on Holidays and it's not worth taking vacation anyhow. My brother and his "girl friend" just left they live in Kentucky and I guess my brothers "girl friend" just said that they offered her triple time to work on Labor day, but she turned it down.

 

Double time and a half for 8 hours then just time and a half after that. Or and 50 bucks just for showing up. Uncle Sam will take most of it though.

 

Triple time for me tomorrow...and yes, I'm working.

 

My brothers girl refused triple time triple time!!! All to work 5am-9am!!! They work in the financial services sector of the economy. How hard is it to drag your self into work in your PJ's and just stare blankly at a computer screen for 4 hours? Don't even have to do anything!!! Oh there might be 2 or 3 calls that come in big deal. It's not like there's bosses or anything around it's not a regular crack the whip kind of day.

Heck I work on Christmas day for the extra Christmas day pay it's worth it to me I guess.

 

I took a shortish run and I'll make about 800 bucks tomorrow... hard to turn that down.

 

Worked every holiday, not only the money but you look good, and if they could they'd get me out early. Unless something goes terribly wrong it's a "can't lose" kinda move.

 

Yeah I mean heck today I got in early, but 8 hours and I was done I made it home in the 12:00pm hour usually holidays are lighter shorter days anyhow it's actually easier truth be told, there's nobody on the road and everything's a lot quieter you just glide right through.

 

All our senior guys bid up the board for today, so I got my holiday (and tomorrow) home with the kids. Back to the grind Wednesday...
