They do pay. Spouse recieved .26 a mile to start. With a raise to .32 a mile solo. I was close to .50 but my position as a trainer was a salary for a few months following a specific training routine laid out in the manual for Her files and learning. She was a good student. We were operating as a team in our second week, dispatch loved us.
We would move into another company as a team and went right to work hauling out of McKesson of Memphis which is high dollar million plus value loads of narcotics and drugs for hospitals and such out of distribution center anywhere in the USA, canada and mexico. IT was at one time talked about to take the Pan American highway south further. THAT would have been a awesome, awesome dispatch assignment. It did not come off thankfully.
Ive wondered what it would take to get down towards south america. and back.
Haven't driven for a year and some change.

China is right. Why drive for company that violates your privacy?x1Heavy Thanks this.

Every company has it's flaws. The companies he mentions he doesn t know for a fact theyre better or worse then swift.
-
I personally have nothing against Swift. I heard they put drivers up in nice hotels during orientation and feed them well. It's just that having spying devices in the truck is a major flaw that I personally could not ignore. They are not the only company though, Abilene has them too and Prime as far as I know.

Trucking has changed for the worst over the yrs mostly for the trk drivers as I'm seeing it and these devices aren't cutting down on the accidents either and never will if they dont have top knotch training. But the op has already made up his mind on Swift it sounds like and can always go elsewhere,he's not sentenced to swift for life.Hopefully he does well with Swift.I know someone from online that's been with Swift for yrs as an owner operator and doing well.I don't k,ow if she's subject to what the company drivers are though.

Ok, you're joining the "Bash Chinatown" bandwagon! Think for yourself pattyj, don't follow the clowns.
I don't mind being bashed, but the problem is, those bashing me don't offer a better alternative to what I've offered. By not offering anything better, their post is useless. I'm ok with being proved wrong, but just "bash and run" is silly.Last edited: Sep 4, 2016

I'm not bashing you,I like you you're alot of fun to joke with. But you need to give safety advice rather then giving the new drivers tips on going against companies policies. That's not showing any level of professionalism and also list good companies rather then any ole company and many you list have the worst safety record imaginable.I for one rather see a driver safety succeed then go against the company they re at.Chinatown Thanks this.

Yeah but have you seen the background many of these aspiring greenhorns post? DUI's, drug charges, drug rehab, multiple felonies. That kind of candidate only has a shot at being hired by Western Express or Carolina Cargo.

Well, tomorrow is the big day anyway. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

You'll do fine.
