Hello. I recently completed CDL school at a company sponsored program. I was to report to orientation last week. Got there, checked into hotel then received a phone call telling me I was pulled from orientation because of a 25 yr old felony that I did disclose from the beginning. Apparently the recruiter was suppose to have me fill out a conviction form and turn it over to safety before I went to school. I asked her 3 times if it was ok and she said yes because of the age of it. She was also aware that I had packed up my house intending to be on the road for a long period of time. So now they have me without a job, no money, and stranded. I called this morning and still no word. I would of thought if they were going to say no they would have already. Can anyone give me some advice? I needed the 6 weeks with a trainer.

You can try CRST. They have a school and will hire prior felonies.

I completed school and gave my CDL . I was suppose to be getting ready to go with mentor. Will they hire me only being part way done with training?

Sure. Cheaper for them if they don't have to put you through school.

Tell them you will start paying back school when you have a job. Their mistake.

I would question needing to repay the debt at all... Sounds like they knew of the issue and allowed her to continue the school and then dropped her from the program... She is still willing to complete the agreement and did not fail in her responsibility to what she agreed to do in exchange for the training given.

I certainly would NOT volunteer to repay them as they were the ones that bailed on her.

The way some of these companies process new applicants is mind-blowing. I'd be postal if all this went down as posted.

Their hiring program is as pathetic as their trucking program. And then they wonder why their reputation among drivers of all stripes is in the toilet.

There are training companies that pick up after one gets their CDL... I got my CDL through a program at a community college and then looked for a training company. They hired me with my CDL and zero experience. I was with a trainer for three months and now driving solo.

    Where are you at?

I ended up at Abilene Motor Express out of Richmond, Virginia... But there are several other smaller companies that hire new drivers with no experience.

@Chinatown might have several companies that might work for you in the short term.
