I just took a quick look at the prime board. It lloked liked very few DryVan loads. Is that typical?

    Thx in advance.

Yep. We're primarily a reefer company when it comes to a box.

If you run your "own authority" you pull your own freight. If you sign on to pull another company's freight your not on your "own authority "

Prime very rarely has "dry" freight. If we do get a dry load we just go in with a reefer and turn the reefer unit off.

Not completely true. You can run under your own authority and do some power only stuff using someone else's trailer, but it's still your dot numbers on the truck, not the one who's trailer you're pulling.

A lot of prime's dry loads tend to go out to the broker side. That's why the company and lease side don't see that many dry loads. The load board that was being referred to was prime's logistic load board that is available to outside carriers who have there own authority and trailer, like myself.

I also, have the ability to pull prime's trailers as well under my authority on there power only program. When I do that, I'll park my trailer and use there's for a while and let them find me loads until it doesn't make sense anymore and then I'll go back and pull my trailer.

I know red and you went though a lot to get there. But I'm actually recanting about the guy that didn't believe you even after you showed him a pic of the #'s on the truck.

You are wrong buddy. I have my own authority and occasionally pull loads for a company I used to work for. I went thru a scale and they ran my numbers not theirs because 1) their on my truck 2) I pay insurance and 3) I'm my own company.
