Until we get the Mack Super -Liner[IMG] in the USA, I'll stick with the Volvo 770 or 880

I started 16 yrs ago pulling equipment with a 1985 or 86 Mack day cab tractor. Over the years I've driven dumps from late 80s up to 2000s models. My last job drove 98 E7 460 4 axle day cab permitted to 120,000lbs. Now I'm pulling tanks in a 2012 Pinnacle. Basicly my whole driving career I've set behind a bulldog. I love Macks, looks, strength, and reliability. I will say though the one I'm driving now rides like that car Fred Flintstone used to drive. I've heard good things about the Volvos but ya gotta think there cant be to much difference other than looks in the two. I'd go with thr Mack CHU with a midrise, 505 mp8 or 10, with their 13 spd. Youd have a solid dependable truck that'll run you many miles n years.

About the only Volvo I liked were the late 90's Volvo Autocars. The durability of those would be comparable to the Canadian built Western Stars of that time period.

Are the latest Mack engines just re-badged volvos? Common components? I've heard the later mp engines are vastly different to drive..... more like everyone elses????
