I know the 378 has an fiberglass hood. It also sits higher on the frame and has over the frame exhaust.
What about turning radius? Do they have the same front axle set up?
I have a KW W900L day cab 210wb. It has terrible turning manners! I had a reg hood 379 220wd that would easily out turn it.
My delema I'm looking to get a truck with a sleeper. Looking at a 378 with a 245wb. But I hate giving up my day cab. I'm thinking I may not give up much in turning radius as the W9 is pathetic. Any thoughts?

It will turn like a 379 short hood, it's a little shorter than a long hood 379 but turning radius doesn't seem to be much different I don't think.

So will most any truck out there. I've had this truck since new 2006. My 3 big complaints turning radius, how hard it steers when doing slow maneuvering and the hvac. Unless it's real hot or real cold you can't seem to keep it comfortable.

    I had a 2002 379 short hood 230" with a Sheppard steering gear.
My 2003 379 long hood 260" with a TRW steering gear, would turn inside the short hood. The only KW I've owned that turned good was a T800.

Maybe. I bought it new in 06. It has 525,000 on it and I know how they all got there! I'm kinda attached to it. But I also need a place to sleep on occasion.

I have a '95 W9 that steers as easily as a Pete. It is the only W9 I have owned that steers easily. Buy a tube or 2 of Lucas grease and see if you notice any difference. I was going to say IMO keep the KW it's a better truck but you are looking for a sleeper. So I'll say buy a KW with a sleeper.

Years back KW started using a front axle with a wider track for better turning radius. It was an option back then. I think it has the letters EW in the model number. That's all I know about it.
