Playing flatbed (sorta today).. 52.7ft I-Beams going for auction. All strapped and blocked in. Not the usual stuff we put in the trailer but another department needs these moved.

I know, just giving you a hard time. By the way, I would much rather have a load like that on a flatbed where it's easier to get proper downforce on straps or chains than in a van of any kind.
-
That's really not a van is it? It probably has a fairly strong front.
-
No looks like his garage wagon he normally has full of waste products from the greater Toronto area
johndeere4020 Thanks this. -
Yeah I know you were giving me a hard time lol... I would rather have it on a flatbed as well but we don't own flatbeds... Being a former flatbedder I knew this was going to be a pain in the butt when I was told I was picking up 2 - 52ft+ I-BEAMS and taking them to auction.. I knew it wasn't going to be a quick job... Of course 4.5hrs later I had finally had them loaded, blocked and strapped where a flatbed would have been on within 1hr or 2... I had to mess around putting these 8" blocks down so as not to damage the floor then try to push the beams in with 2 loaders.. It wasn't an easy task.. Not like lifting with a forklift and drop on a flatbed.. Of course I was questioned why it took so long which I can't believe I was even asked.. Especially after figuring out how to get it on and busting my butt in humid weather for 5hrs.. Some people have no concept...
No it's not a VAN... It's a waste trailer which is build very strong with 1.5" thick walls all around and bracing within the 2 walls (inner and outer).. They are built to be loaded with loaders from the top compressing material down towards the floor... It's actually great as the I-BEAMs are butted up on the front wall and when rear doors closed they are butted up against them as well.. Tight fit..
You are correct sir....cnsper, Chewy352, Dye Guardian and 2 others Thank this. -
I decided not to take a pic of my first load today, (another one of those ugly pallet loads) hopefully me taking pics is why i keep getting them. And i forgot to take a pic of the load of big pipe... but i remembered this one! Number 2 for today, a little 28,000 lb order
PeteyFixAll, Ruthless, snowman_w900 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I hate shrink wrapped pallets and equipment. At least on a short haul it doesn't get too bad, but on long hauls that stuff tends to blow off into neckties for motorcycle riders.
