They used to do a convenience store near my house, where the lot is so small the cement mixers would park on the street. It really is small, tight squeeze in my pickup at times. They'd whip in at 4 pm on a Friday and fill up the whole lot.

How do those McLane drivers know how tall the gas station canopies are? I see them like back in under the canopies a lot, but I never see any real markings on most gas station canopies as far as high goes.

Hi! Just adding my two cents. I just quit Mclane out here in Utah, we are a domicile off of Longmont Colorado. I quit cause we lost the bid on 711's to coremark which is about 43 of the stops on my route alone haha. I guess it is only the sevs in Utah, Vegas and Sacramento or something like that. Was promised we picked up new business and found out it was circle k... We have like 3 of those here so yea.. The new bid looks like crap! And the canopie thing got to a point where I could look at it and kinda just know with how many 711's we pull in to. Average night was 18 stops so I saw my share of canopies. And you are right about the gripes on Mclane, I have been there for 2 years and have never met a more disgruntled group of guys at one job in my life. Most of them treated the customers like crap and never really got talked to about it or nothing. Start coremark on Monday!!!

@Ikeyymay, good luck with your Coremark job! Looks like they have a lot of openings, besides driver. Are they expanding, or did they just lose a bunch of people?
Kind of strange, but it does sometimes happen that several folks quit, retire, or transfer at once. Gotta keep HR on their toes.... -
Hey thanks big don! Yea they seem to always be hiring but I guess so are most of the food service/ grocery trans companies. Coremark in salt lake is putting together a 711 crew on the warehouse side and driver side. The routes will be 711"s only due to 711 wanting trucks out of their lots by 5 am. Plus they just picked up Murphy USA which I have never heard of until the other day and now just realized there is one being built kind of by my house. Oh and I don't know if this is everywhere but here in Utah there seems to be a new maverick going up everywhere you look so with all that being said, there are going to be Coremark trucks running in to each other down here lol!

I wonder if Coremark getting 7/11 will filter to Texas that would definitely be interesting
