Alright I was finally on the phone with a beautiful (hopefully) young lady from CRE. What they offer is average of $1300 a week the first year training , which according to her will put me around $70K at the end of the year.

Second year , she says I would be making $82k... She also mentioned there's $200 bonus every time a student passes the "upgrade" after training, which I already knew.

Idk if it's worth it. Maybe if I had no wife, kid and dog (and house)

$91K? That's oh... $8000 less than I earned last year. I slept in my own bed at home 339 out of 365 nights (by my own choice), only worked weekend days when I chose to, didn't work any holidays unless I wanted to, and took my full week of paid vacation. Yes, I fingerprinted most of my freight, and I sometimes delivered or loaded in places like the Bronx, Brooklyn and Brentwood. But on the plus side, I didn't have to worry about keeping track of a trainee or three. Or sleeping in the truck with a trainee that smokes and eats chili with onions...

    Thanks, CRE. But, no thanks.

Well I fully expect you to keep us updated and tell us all the interesting stories that take place out on the road.

Hey awesome news, you can pick out your new uniform at your local walmart, stained tee shirt, stained gray sweat pants and shower slippers for extra precision training and driving.

You could even release a book with all the tales from the road and be set for life! If you survive the trainees of course haha

I don't think I can do it. I like going home every night. A Line Haul position is what I really want right now.

See if you can jump on the extra board, you can do pretty well with Reddaway as long as they keep you running.

My problem is I'll work a day or 2 then have a few off or work 6 days then nothing for a week. I sit a lot and I don't really know why, I moved from number 14 to 10 on our board and nothing has changed. Maybe Saia, Estes or fedex freight might be something to look into if they don't let you run linehaul.

i already emailed Bryan and no answer. I have a couple of applications still active with Fedex Freight but I ain't holding my breath on that one.

I'm going to stay patient until December/January to see how much we get with the new Union contract renewed
