Can anybody give any insight into Schneiders operation out of Reserve, La? I'm going to orientation/training in Houston on the 6th but believe that Reserve will be my terminal. Any info would be appreciated like average miles, home time, are they living up to there promises, and treating drivers well? Thanks!!!

I've read about all I could find and nothing was really recent. A lot of problems with sitting and low miles, curious to see if those issues have cleared up.

I currently work for Schneider and reserve, la is my home oc. I'll do my best to break it down for you.

The people that work there are fantastic. I believe Tamella will be your DBL and she is wonderful.

Yes they will get you home. They only brought me in late once, and that was only by a day.

I be honest with you about miles, it's not good. In the 6 months I've been driving for them as an OTR driver, my average is 1500mi a week. I have to stay out 4+ weeks just to make ends meet. I'm looking to move on now.

I've been driving for just 2 years and I wanted that tanker experience. I won't pull anything else now for the foreseeable future. Having said all that, if this is your first driving job or first time pulling a tank, I don't know of any company that will train you better.

If you need anything else answered feel free to ask me

1500 miles as otr? That's scary low, I'm gonna be regional. So I'm sure mine will be lower.

Oh but "the mileage pay rate on the bulk side is great" ... That and 50 cents will buy you a cup of coffee. I never could understand the attraction to bulk at places like Schneider (outside of other places who pay well for experience)

That said. If home time is more important than gross pay, it may be a great opportunity.

It is scary low. Regional southeast doesn't seem to be hurting to bad. Just OTR.

I'm stuck in Keasbey, NJ from Friday morning to Sunday at 10 am when I will be picking up and heading to Texas. I had to badger my DBL all week to stop running me regionally in the NE. This pay period will have a whopping 1032mi from 3 runs.

I'm ranting now lol, seriously though, you can't beat the training.

Thanks for your honest replies, I guess I'll roll the dice with them. Hopefully it'll turn out okay. I'm starting out at a good rate per mile, but I've been out of the truck for awhile so if nothing else it'll be a skill builder.

Precisely, after awhile you can check out companies like superior carriers, Groendyke, Heniff, Trimac.

I'm of the same mindset. I have been stuck in a single parenting situation, but my boys mother is getting ready to retire from USAF...I wanted to get into trucking as soon as I retired (2013), buts its been on the back burner. I am 99% sure I will be going to Schneider Bulk route. Anyone hauling bulk for Schneider out of Columbus, OH? I see both Regional and OTR...was thinking OTR would be more miles...after reading this...not so sure. Any input from Columbus Schneider Bulk folks?
