Yes, it's true! Daily Express, Inc did implement an empty fuel surcharge for the owner operators! The company pays a percentage of the line haul to its owner operators and company drivers. The empty fuel surcharge came right off of the line haul. So they are giving it back to the owner operator, just dressed up a little. And the company drivers? Well, it was a pay cut...

where is he buying fuel at most of it is now around $2.50 or lower in most of the country

Not to be a smart a-s, but I always figured in my dh miles into my rate. If they didn't like it, I didn't move it. Just smart business in book. I wish more did it, but contracts are hard enough to get right now, along with a workable FSC.
