The signs are there. Many many roads in Cali with signs for no trucks over 65'.
I'm over 74' with my setup. I ignore the signs and take my chances most of the time. Heck just being in Cali with a 2005 truck I am taking a chance. Thing is,. you have to be willing to accept the consequences when you do.
We all make choices everyday. Ignorance is no excuse for the law.
Chalk it up to lesson learned.

Someone here once said, if you're gonna ignore the signs, it's best to run them over while you do it.
If the sign is down, you can fight the ticket lolLepton1, Rusty Trawler, KillingTime and 3 others Thank this. -
I've heard the same thing.
Depending on the road,.. that could be a lot of signs you need to run over.
My luck I'd get a flat tire.
I'll never say I purposely ran it over. Probably should have used the trailer instead. Cheaper tires back there. (Just kidding)

TATROOPER to TRUCKER Thanks this. -
If you try to skirt the E,'town scale in KY on 65 by using 31, you're taking your chances.
It's a non posted restricted length road for just that reason
They'll leave you alone if you're trying to get around a mess on 65, otherwise, you better have a BOL for a delivery on 31
I got busted there
There's a cop who watches the road.tucker and double yellow Thank this. -
I got one of those last month in Northern California. I was coming down from Reno and actually ran over forty miles on a restricted road without getting caught. My luck ran out the following day near Vina California. I was following my GPS and bear snagged me. No consolidation but immediately after he was done writing me up he caught a flatbed for the same thing.

A few years back, my dispatcher gave me a Google map to a del just west of Philly.
It put me smack dab on a one mile stretch of 5 ton.
A line of cars behind me, straight wasn't an option, there was no right.
As soon as I turned on it, there was a special dot truck on my bumper.
And the one mile had several big speed bumps to make sure it took you awhile to get through it.
At the other end of the mile was a special scale waiting.
He wrote me a ticket for 19,000 dollars and change.
Based on 1940 weight laws
It was a legal scam
If someone went into Google to correct the map to miss the restricted road, the cops would go to google and change it back.
The cop said with a wink, don't worry about it, if you call this # on Sat, you will pay 2400+court costs and nothing will show up on your record.
My company, which told me to run that map, said their lawyers would fight it.
That I shouldn't worry about it
Two weeks later they came back to me and said it was unbeatable and that I'd have to pay half of the 2800, and that I was lucky to not get fired.
I never forgave them for that.
