Thought back to this post after seeing some Priority equipment sitting in rest areas and truck stops up and down the east coast this past week.

 

if you're under 25 and need to rent a car, try enterprise. just look them up on line. you have to pay a fee ... but it can be worth it. uhaul is REALLY expensive so i'd try the car rental first.

 

I went and picked up hubby yesterday in Lexington NE. His load that he was supposed to still try and do didn't get done until 5:30 am and there was no way.

He called his safety manager and he talked to the head guy that does the DAC reporting for the company and they actually told him, "leave the truck and have his wife come and get him, and I will not put it on his report about leaving the truck". The first person Jeff talked to told him that they would fax him a waiver for the ins. stuff, but Jeff still told them no as he wasn't going to risk it.

At least it was only about a 5 hour drive to get him, but it was still hard on our kids being stuck in a vehicle all day. But the way I see it, it was better to come and get him then for him to try and get as far as he could by midnight and then get stranded in the middle of no where.

I pray that all of the drivers from this make it home safe and sound and find new jobs. Jeff has spent all morning looking at jobs on his laptop.

As to the driver that got stuck in Chesterton, if you could send me some info through a private message or a way to contact you, we might be able to help you out somehow.

 

If I am not mistaken GE Capital owned priority,because they own land transportation and a few others that have the same logo on their signs. The company I was working for was bought out a few years back by them. they was a bunch of crooks then

 

I am sorry did not mean to double qoute, yeah crazy i had also heard that GE had something to do with priority not sure what though. As for the driver that recamended enterprise i apperciate the info will call frist thing monday if they are open due to labor day.

To the family out in loveland i hear ya i was stuck in lexington for a day and a half at the tyson plant aswell, hurry up and get there dispatch said and tyson as for anyone that pulls there loads said would you like a wake up call on channel 15??? I was talking to the K # B Boys and they said tyson was 13 loads behind scheudual. My load went to Montgomery City MO were i picked up a empty reefer trlr brought it to the corn field were they were taking the trlrs cleaned out my truck and hear sit stranded in the super 8 motel on indiana 49.

If you are at the yard, go in and ask for Jeff Thayer's number and give us a call. If Brendon is still there, he will help you find it. We talked to him earlier in the day. Russ was Jeff's dispatcher, so if he is maybe around.

I wonder if you are the driver that Jeff said he talked to while he was there.....

Oh Yes!!! At the tyson plant right?? I remember that I thought he was the securtiy gaurd telling me my load was ready LOL. I had libby as a dispatcher but dealt with russ a bunch of times one hell of a nice a guy.
