My flatbed onion story falls somewhere between you can't make this up and don't ruin a good story with facts.
~10 years ago on another trucker forum called CAD we were all saying don't haul cheap freight or less than $2/mile yadda yadda. Well this guy told us all to put up or shut up and said find me $2/mile and I will haul it. So I found him $2/mile from Gillette, WY to NH.....pretty sure it was onions and it paid by weight. IIRC he put a bag or two in the cab and it it didn't take long to regret that decision. True to his word, he pay paled me $80. Maybe @Skate-Board will be along to embellish or refute my version of events.Last edited: Sep 15, 2016

I picked up some diced onions for the fridge and it didn't take me long to regret it. I couldn't imagine a couple bags in the cab.

I still laugh about it. Brings tears to my eyes LOL. Could you imagine the DOT pulling you over with your eyes all red and watery and they park your behind for 10. LMAO.Last edited: Sep 15, 2016

A long time ago I had a dry load on a reefer. 2 stopper but the second stop was only 1 box. I loaded and when I stopped for supper I decided to put that 1 box under the bunk so it wouldn't get lost in the shuffle at the first drop.
Big mistake.
I got back in the truck and about gagged. It turned out to be a box of this god awful smelling spice's. It was winter time and didn't smell at all cold, but warm it up in the truck and my god it stunk bad. Back in the trailer it went. Took a few days for the smell to go away.johndeere4020, Chewy352, rank and 2 others Thank this. -
