    No when I load the jeep to 40 I get 12 k 17/17/17k

    Not enough neck on the jeep or the trailer

    How far up can you slide your fifth wheel? Before I moved mine I couldn't even get over my front drive, I could get 60,000 on my drive group but it was about 45,000 on the drives and 15,000 on the pusher if I put more air in the pusher it just lifted the front. Most places want all axles in a group within a certain amount of each other, I looked ok on a platform but axle scales I was illegal. I moved my fifth wheel ahead 20" and it made a big difference now I can get a legitimate 20 20 20 with about 12,500 on the steer. If I didn't have that stupid 60" drive spread and a longer neck I would be able to get more up front. My super trailer has a longer neck even without the flip I pull it once and a while that way and it will slide up as far as my fifth wheel will go that gets me a little more on the steer.

    I have 2 issues working

    First I am slid all the way up on the big neck. And the on the jeep neck I can only get to to center axle .

    My lift axle is set up for CA and cannot be regulated. That is why I am always light on my steer. So
    I max out loaded Perfect (my trailer is a 60/40 fixed)

    Well, seeing how many states allow tandems above 40k, I have met some driver who refuse to have a pusher axle. They prefer to have 52K tandem axles instead. I would imagine if your trailer neck is short, you can't get a 3 axle tractor underneath the trailer in order to move the weight forward onto the 3rd axle/front axle hence the reason for the heavier tandem axles, but, if you can, why not have the 3rd axle.. What's the issue with solid lift axles vs steerable lift axles these days.

    CATSDP - I have seen many different setups, especially during the heavy equipment tradeshow in Las Vegas, NV. I've seen the trucks that bring in the heavy equipment and many of the companies use short wheel base trucks to get around in town.
    I don't see many long wheel base trucks, but, in Washington, there are lift axle trucks everywhere. (Wierd to see many trucks there with lift axles, and there usage is for dry vans/tankers) Canada, many true tri-drive tractors, no lift axles.

    Johndeere4020 - I can see this as being a problem. I see some truck spec'd with a short slide on the 5th wheel. I don't know if the original buyer was being stupid or cheap, but, it doesn't allow for full utilization of the weight carrying capacity of the tractor. also, it's dangerous when you can get enough weight on the front end and you need to make a turn. The problem is..... You might simply go straight..... Not a good thing.

    Rontonio - Proportion valve for CA?? Which proportion valve do you have. Also, does that unit raise the axle when you shut the truck off??? ( I heard that was a CA requirement, Stupid IMO) Axle weight carrying capacity needs to be withing +/- 10% of each other.

    NY wants new equipment with lift axles to be steerable for overwieght permits. If they don't lift they can be solid .

    And all the wagons are quads.
    Somewhere I have a picture of Service's new Aspen & 5-axle truck (2 pushers) hauling a big 'ol dozer with the neck flipped up.
    I'd love to make my lift go away, but it's kind of standard equipment here to make weight.
