How often do you have to do a mental reset to keep from quitting?

When you start thinking two minutes of things in one minute, it's time.

 

It's so darn comforting and pleasant to know how wound-up and wired fellow driver's are. on the edge ready to go off the deep end at any nano second.

And when and if you do quit remember that shippers and receivers are the same no matter the company. Most OK, some bad. Same when pissed at dispatchers. Will the grass actually be greener on the other side. Anytime a shipper / receiver piss me off I just note it and refuse to go there again. If dispatch pisses me off I look around at how much worse all the other local companies in the area are and realize that he could have just been having a bad day too and again let it go. If dispatch continues to be annoying, I will bring it up with the manager though.

Ohhh, heck. Sometimes I can go for as long as 15 or even twenty minutes.

 

One of the little perks that makes this job great. Wear what I want and play whatever music I want as loud as I want.

 

Depends on the day really. There are some days where I will go the whole day without worry. And then there are days where I'll be super happy about everything and telling everyone how awesome my company is and two hours later be planning exactly how hard I'm going to slam the truck key down in front of my dispatch and whether or not it's a great idea to flip them all off as I stroll out. Next day... rinse and repeat.

 

I reset every evening as I pop a cold one relishing the thought of not having to deal with any dumb people for at least 12 hours .

 

Every other day I strongly consider quiting.
