Sorry to the op, for getting off track. Mybpoint was that many of us do a lot of things off duty and waiting on dispatch.
Is it on duty waiting for dispatch

Theoratically it's onduty. if you are inside the waiting area in front of a dispatcher who told you to wait a sec while they get the load together. That sec easily goes into hours of lost time.
I always logged it off duty or sleeper time. It conserved the valuable driving time that will now be needed to make delivery.
If everyone logged on duty the actual waiting around however long it takes to get dispatched, no one will have enough hours to get any thing done.Socal Xpress Thanks this. -
Only if you're being paid by the hour with overtime stacking up in your favor

So the goal is to earn money. .....right?
So why on earth would you want to put this time waiting for a call for the next days start time ON Duty?
Let's assume you put in 12hrs days for 5 days. That equals to 60hrs wich leaves you with 10hrs to spare for the week. But they always call you exactly 5pm for the next days dispatch So thats 3hrs that you want to put as ON Duty. Why????? It would cut Fridays time for you to earn money.
Now most drivers want to preserve there 70hr work week but hey maybe I don't get it.
