I worked for an older family owned hotel since around 2003 doing maintenance and the front desk clerk but i was paid cash.I also did my own side work handyman and electrical work but again paid cash. Do they simply call or do i need pay stubs or something? I hope they just call the previous employer or else i'm screwed.
How do they verify previous employment?

If I hadn't paid taxes in 13 years I don't think I would announce it on the internet. I had to fax over some 1099s when I got hired (contractors went belly up and didn't answer phone). I would imagine it would depend on the company.BUMBACLADWAR, Steel Tiger and CrappieJunkie Thank this.

If you have failed to pay taxes, expect uncle sam to get a hold of you first.
Everything else will be considered nothing that can be applied to work experience for trucking anyhow.CrappieJunkie Thanks this. -
No sh1t. Don't advertise tax evasion. LMAOMattaCracker Thanks this.

Most will call to verify past employment. Few ask to see pay stubs except in rare situations. I'd just act like it was a "regular job" and let them do whatever they're going to do.

Don't worry you can run but not hide, they know where you are. They are just waiting in the dark

Ya there an insurance person on here that gives us ####, sure uncle buck is watching also!

We are dealing with the government here. Nobody goes the extra mile when dealing with the government. Have you seen the number of foreigners in the industry. Do you think they are calling a number in Bosnia and asking to speak to Mr. Not enough Vowels and find out if Bubbajocka worked there? Just list a the company and give a phone number if you have it. If not, say owner died. They do check trucking companies closely.
1278PA and cjb logistics Thank this. -

OP hasn't said they didn't file taxes...just that they got paid in cash which isn't illegal...yet.
MuscleBro Thanks this.
