Finally after a long spell of no rain, I had to dig my rain suit out to unload tonight. Very dry up here right now, worst drought I can remember for a long time. Kinda hurts the workload for the night, as most of our trucks are sitting tonight/today, but we'll gladly take it.

 

Tonight I find myself at the one customer of ours that I hate going to. Their redo-mix plant sits right next to a college campus (that's the only good thing), in the middle of town, and is very visible. Their silos are garbage, bathhouses have leaked and blown dust for years. Tonight I have a load of slag in here and the wind happens to be blowing all the dust over top of the campus. Tried to get a small video, but the camera on my phone doesn't work well in the dark. It would be awesome if the green police showed up right now and closed this place forever.

Yeah I'm not crazy about doing slag loads, but they pay really well. My trailer should be a 1200 cubic foot so it fits in without a mess. Usually it gets up around 77000 lbs and starts dusting pretty bad

 

All the neighbors to the batch plants around dfw raise such a fuss about noise and dust it's unbelievable. Can't go to some places b4 7a.m. shut down if a dome lid or hose connection even thinks about leaking.
Nobody told them to buy a house next to a plant that's been there 50 years smh.
