The class started with about 40 people and now we are down to like 35. Swift is planning on cramming upwards of 70 + drivers into the orientation class here. Orientation has not been bad though. They put you in a decent hotel with a room mate. For a private room it runs about $20 a night. Breakfast is provided by the hotel which is cereal, toast, oatmeal, coffee, and orange juice. Swift provides lunch and they feed the ####in #### out of you. Swift food is really good too. They also provide free coffee in a small break room. First day of orientation consisted of mainly the drug test and/or physical. They also will be doing the road test on the 1st and second day. Other than that we really just watched YouTube videos most of the time. Something every one considering Swift should know is that you do not get paid for the 1st day of orientation. Swift has a very interesting orientation because it mainly consisted of YouTube with the occasional paperwork/lecture session. Compared to Werner and Stevens orientation, Swift is by the best.

For future reference, Lancaster is the only terminal with that kind of awesome good food. However, its also the only good reason to go there when you get out on your own. Except for Inkeeper...
Most of the seemingly wasted time in orientation is due to waiting on the whiz quiz results. Things will zoom after that. Welcome and feel free to ask any questions you come up with. A few of us have been here a few years.
FrankXzay, inkeper and TypeONegative7 Thank this. -
Yeah Frank...flattery will get most people anywhere. You though, well I guess I'd break bread with you!

Lancaster terminal has a caterer. The other ones don't

Joe used to be a local driver out of Lancaster that loved to cook. He started out by selling plates of food out of the fuel island office years ago. You had to know he was there in order to get a plate. His business started booming to the point he didn't need to drive anymorre. He quickly realized that if he could get into the driver's lounge he could do even better. When he asked management they agreed to let him come in there if he got his catering license. That was maybe five years ago. He usually has someone else serving while he plays dominoes or chess. For some reason he always has a smile on his face!A21CAV, RedRover, TypeONegative7 and 2 others Thank this.

So 40 people and 5 failed a piss test that they absolutely knew for a fact they would be taking in advance?
