Just wanted to give an update on the bunk... I cut in 4 windows out of a pickup topper removed the left side bunk door and enlarged the right side bunk door to change it more to an RV style, keeping the small under bunk door on the left side for yes... You all knew it... TOOLS...

I still plan on striping this truck but have decided to have my friend do it with a lighter silver metallic vinyl instead of painting it on...
rank Thanks this. -
... Almost forgot... Cab and custom made bunk drop panels are painted to match sitting in my garage... Thanks Tony at Talladega Fiberglass for working with me on the custom built pieces... I'd wished to have shot them on the truck but they couldn't be ready in time... Should be installed next week before she goes back to work... now doing 100,000+# loads... I'll post new pics
Oxbow Thanks this. -
My jaw hit the floor when I saw the first grey pic. Three weeks! What was the before/after wheelbase?
Oxbow Thanks this. -
No kidding. He must've worked non stop all day long.

Must be three weeks just for adding the bunk, prep and paint. I can't imagine stretching the frame, adding the lift axle, building the bunk, wiring.....head exploded just thinking about it.Oxbow Thanks this.

Same here. Took me like 4 or 5 hours just to drill 12 holes and install a crossmember in my truck. Of course all I was using a hand drill and a tape measure lol.

No, the stretch done with a cut-off took a lot longer than it should have by a mechanic shop I'll never use again... Then I barely limped it home to redo a bunch of their stupid... Not a superman... Just the body complete strip down to the cab and bunk... Clean the frame and under the hood... You'll all get to see under the hood soon... all matches the exterior with detail... Just showing what can be done yourself if you have the time and money and friends... Having the fuel pump rebuilt at a shop right now... This truck hasn't pulled a load since April 3rd so you can see the time involved... especially when the mechanics won't call a man back... Like its some kind of secret until you get the overcharged invoice... and see the ignorant things guys who call themselves mechanics and welders will do... Like ties $1200 worth of hydraulic hoses to sharp edges, same with wiring... Just conecting the brake and tail lights and leaving everything else... Yea... No... There are very few good mechanics left...
