Even the best ltl hands have #### backing days. There are vids out there, but be wary of over complicating the issue. I always suggest the toy truck method, a toy semi truck with trailer, when pushed backwards and turned will give you a overhead view of whats happening, or search for vids with overhead veiws, things like watching when the trailer tires stop rolling will tell you when to get back under it... see now im completing it... smh,
Forget all that!when in reverse, your driving the trailer, think of a pallet jack, (omg) a pallet jack is a perfect anolgy.... i digress...

In all seriousness though, i really like my pallet jack anolgy, your tractor is the handle, when pushing it, you turn to the left to make the tines go right, long tines (trailer) controlled by the much smaller handle assembly (tractor) and the relationship is the same, except why is a jack easy? Because you dont think about what the handle is doing, you focus on driving the tines (trailer)

Just takes time. After awhile it becomes second nature. Believe it or not I have trouble backing a Bobtail, and even sometimes my four-wheeler, because my natural inclination now is to turn the wheel as if I have a trailer.
Here is something to try if turning the wheel is confusing you. Put your hand at the bottom of the steering wheel. Now of you want the trailer to go left, turn the wheel left.
Also, just keep in mind you are merely steering the trailer. Draw an imaginary line from where your wheels are, to where you want them to be, them steer along that line.
Keep at it. It is a learned skill.FLYMIKEXL Thanks this. -
Finally got straight line backing taken care of... Now on to off set backing tommorow wish me luck
