...the part that would tick me off is where it said "To compound matters, the Ontario Ministry of Labor is called if drivers attempt to redistribute the loads with shovels." So, the loader operator screws up and your axle weights are off...and if you try to correct it, you're reported to a government agency and will likely get fined...but if you DON'T try to correct it, a DIFFERENT government agency will fine you. Danged if you do, danged if you don't, and there's no penalties for the people incorrectly loading the trucks.

Okay, I'll bite. How come a guy can't use a shovel?
We do it all the time at scales hauling grain it there's a distribution problem.
Or is manual labour against a persons Human rights in Ontario? -
No but due to injuries in the past they follow the written safety rules... I got out of construction due to all the crazy rules to protect dimwits who somehow found a way to injure themselves...
-
You can do it with a shovel if you have a proper harness and are tethered when climbing into your trailer. Same goes for tarping loads, no harness, No tarp. Places look at me like i'm an idiot when I say i'm not tarping without a harness... Like I want to break my back and be a vegetable my whole life, spend the money and do things properly and you won't have a problem, same goes for these nitwits.
magoo68, Roberts450 and uncleal13 Thank this. -
I pray for the day the temporary foreign worker program is abolished for trucking.
Unfortunately it probably never will be. -
Ever notice all truck rollovers and accidents causing death are always caused by Binder Binder Pinder Singh Dinder?
The google search results for 401 truck accident and highway 11 truck accident are laughable.
A few weeks ago the rollover in Liskeard had 4 guys in the truck - lol.. When will the madness end? -
Loggers never have this problem with overweights and they don't have a scale in the bush either. On board scales is what these guys need. Why should big daddy government have to step in and hold their hand? Loader puts too much weight on, you tell him to take some off. Its simple.

Absolutely.

Real bulk haulers don't cross scales.
adamsg, Macneil and Pedigreed Bulldog Thank this.
