I fell off twice (no serious injuries, fortunately; somehow, I still remembered how to fall properly, even from a height) and got smacked by breaker bar blowback more times than I care to remember. It's a young man's job that should never have been tried for the first time by an old guy...me!

But I did it and checked that off the 'bucket list,' never to be done again.

It sucks when you make friends in trucking and you don't know their families then something happens to them and you never hear from them again...
Had it happen a couple of times....

I'm fine. Thanks for the concerns. I've just become a bit lazy. Okay, a lot lazy.

And okay, preoccupied. I now have two pregnant daughters, one due very soon and one due in march.

I am spend on a few more hours in our McDonough terminal and wanted to share a weird experience I had yesterday. It is related to @tow614 and Big G.

Normally, I only see Big G trucks heading in the opposite direction when I'm here in the South. Yesterday, however, one of their trucks and I spent most of the day passing one another up and down hills heading south on part of I65, I24, and I75 as I headed to Hot 'Lanta.

At some point, he pulled into a truck stop and I continued; we lost contact with each other. I didn't get the truck or trailer numbers so I'll never know it was.

But I figure it was karma for something.

Oh. And I am still running on recap hours, many of which are 4-6 hours. This means I have become one of those after-midnight drivers that takes up truck stop parking spaces all day.

Kind of like the night mail and cargo flying I used to do.

    4mer trucker Thanks this.
