There is a GM Assembly plant in Arlington, TX which last I heard is served by Jack Cooper. A UPRR Yard in Mesquite that handles Ford, Chrysler, and some imports. Alliance/Fort Worth gets GM or they did last I looked.

You will have to check which carriers are handling which as is changes a lot these days. DAS is also in Mesquite however I don't think you want to deal with them.

Hansen & Adkins may have some of this traffic. Also, there was a small railhead in Amarillo where Ford came into. Although I doubt anyone moves TO the Texas panhandle, only From. :)

    Mr&MrsPete Thanks this.

Thank You for the info. I know Jack Cooper has the freight out of the Arlington plant. Hansen & Atkins has the GM stuff from Mesquite but don't know if they have anything else. I know there is a rail in Midlothian and USAL is down there. Im really interested in Alliance/ Ft Worth

Alliance is a BNSF yard. Not sure what traffic they have these days. They used to have the Ford traffic until it was awarded to UPRR back in the day and went to Mesquite

URS has Kia's from Midlothian and stuff out of the Alliance yard as well.
They also have the BMW's "for now till someone cuts the rate" out of Galveston TX. Those stay pretty much in TX and surrounding area. That is the stuff they moved from Brunswick since so many of the units ended up in TX anyhow.
They do quite a bit for CarMax within the state of TX as well.

Alliance works out best for me. The house we wanna buy is in Ft. Worth. BMW out of Galveston works out well too. I wonder how far south the Kia's go so I can make those dots connect. As far CarMax is concerned, they can have that. I have done a ton of work for them here out west and you loose money sitting around waiting to check in and out. Does USAL still do the Toyota out of Galveston or Houston?

I believe C.A.R. does Hondas out of Alliance. Can't remember what else is over there.

I heard Hansen & Atkins has the Chrysler work in Alliance now. But if there GM rates are any indication of what they pay ill pass

I peeked at the Google Earth pic of the ramp, it was just Hondas and maybe Nissan, but no telling how old the pic was.

These automakers amaze me. When we got our first contract, it was because the low bidder realized they'd screwed up 30 days into the contract, so we weren't the low bidder, and got decent rates out of there. It was also the only ramp in the system not to go overcapacity last year, (with one of the ugliest distributions.) But the bean counters never learn, it's like spot buy money doesn't register in their overall cost analysis. They still think giving that contract to these low-bid carriers who have failed in every ramp they've ever had is somehow going to be different this time around.
