Bridge limit laws have no leniency. First thing I did before scaling is to look at my route and determine the minimum bridge limit along the route, set the trailer tandems to that limit and then do the first weigh. Saves a lot of time if you ultimately have to go back to the shipper to rebalance the load.

Still beats being lazy and not scaling at first scale after leaving shipper but some 2 hundred miles away only to find out that there is no way to make trailer axle legal(over 500#).Got me $80 ticket for not stopping at scale in NE.Lepton1 Thanks this.

I've always scaled at the first trkstop and looked in my trkstp guide while getting loaded to see where the first scale is.Ya miles from the shipper then decides to weigh load shows lack of professionalism as a trk driver.

JUST USE A 10 FOOT SPREAD...YOU CANT GO WRONG 50,000 LB OF LUMBER EVERY DAY...CAB AIR GAGE TO SHOW TRACTOR IS OK....THAN SCREW THE REST...
