I'm taking the plunge. Estes gave me the call that everything is good to go and I did my road test Friday and start Monday training for a week. I am excited and really looking forward to the new adventure running extra board.
Reddaway has been a fairly good company but I don't see YRC or Reddaway going in a very positive direction. I hope that at 30 years old I finally found a company I can retire from. They do seem really laid back and the pay is substantially a lot more. I'm losing my free Healthcare which is a downer but my pay is going from .44cpm to .56cpm and from $17.70 per HR to $22 per HR. I also get a fairly new truck instead of my Old Volvo with no A/C and constantly breaking down.

J/k luck driver! -
Pretty much means cover runs as needed otherwise run Monday night through Friday night bouncing from terminal to terminal.

Which if you like a change up from the repetition of a bid run, it's the best. You are ronin!
Bigdaddy00 and TahoeTrucker Thank this. -

Either way, it is probably better than working for a YRC company. The free health insurance is no longer free when you consider the paycut those drivers took. Good luck in your new gig and keep us posted!Mike2633, TahoeTrucker and speedyk Thank this. -

I asked about the bunk houses and apparently they don't use them on the west coast. I asked about the insurance and it looks like it runs about $68 a week for my wife, myself and our daughter. So under $280 per month is not bad considering everyyou night a don't work with Reddaway is around $250 a night and that's at least 1 or 2 nights a week. I think this will work outo well. Plus the TM says there is plenty of work.
I do agree extraboard is where the money is at.Bob Dobalina, Chinatown and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
I just had my interview with them and looks like I'll be getting on. I'll be starting as regional OTR, which I think I'll really like.Mike2633 Thanks this.
