Some of those companies you listed don't have cdl training.
Do some online applications before any phone calls then in a couple of days call and say,"I'm checking on my job application." They need something to look at, not just a voice on the phone.
There's a cheap 40 hr. school in Miami that at least you can get the cdl. CRST hires from that school. Don't know the name of the school though. Carolina Cargo hires from that school also.
Apply for cdl school online with :
    Carolina Logistics
    Celadon
    Swift
    CR England
    Roehl Transport

Felonies have to be about 5 years old at most companies. Many don't care about misdemeanors.

None of the truck companies that have their own schools will train anyone with a recent felony and most for profit schools will tell you to wait till felony is 5 years old. Then you will need prehire from a couple companies.
*I have felonies and I went to a couple different schools using grants. Unemployment office the first time then for refresher course(5 years away from trucking) I got grant from social service agency.

Good luck, and remember, in this business there are plenty of people that will tell you thst you have no business driving with a felony ext.. dont get into arguments over it. If it is truly in the past, leave it there and move on.

Grand Theft ???? Make sure you stop at a Love's truck stop, they sell auto break in tools. I always feel safe sleeping at Love's knowing they care so much for truckers safety. :(

Im guessing multi thousand dollar theft. Theft 2 I think is 25,000

Forget trucking. That is the ONE FELONY that destroys your future with anyone stupid enough to hire you.

Once a thief always a thief I say.... If you are REALLY wanting to reform, wait a few years for that hot felony to fall off maybe... DAC reports felony for life, especially theft.

You gotta understand there is just so much... goodies in them there trailers for lightfingers, we just cannot have them. Period. Im not your enemy, Im just being stubbornly heavy because companies love to destroy thieves.

I made some phone calls today to several people I know that work in HR and Safety. Generally to be hired with a felony you need to be a year removed from the end of your sentence/Probation/parole. Some companies for reasons like Canada entry or Contracts will not hire you. Depending on the nature of the crime you may or may not be able to get Hazmat or TWIC, this can also limit you. I do know several people that are convicted felons and were convicted of violent crimes that today hold CDLs and have Hazmat and TWICs. There are no absolutes when it comes to this subject. Just keep pounding the pavement and you might find your answer.
